Transparent Stacked 3-colour Monotype Workshop with Lead Artist, Vinita Voogd
My Journey so far…
Working with visiting artist Vinita Voogd, this “reductive transparent stacked” monotype technique workshops offered an unusual and interesting way of producing an extraordinary range of colour, texture and mark making.
“Vinita was a wonderful teacher, making the experience both engaging and informative. Using polystyrene plates enabled multiple detailed prints, making the process efficient. Adding chine collé enhanced texture and colour, enriching the prints. It was a great hands-on printmaking experience.”

Relief Print with Chine Collé
Mini Prints Workshop
Lead Artist: Vinita Voogd
Working with visiting artist Vinita Voogd, a collagraph workshop using chine collé to create delicate, colourful small-scale prints.
“I thoroughly enjoyed this session with Vinita, even though thinking in three colours proved to be quite challenging. Vinita’s guidance helped me push through my difficulties and gain a deeper understanding of colour use in Monotypes & Monoprints. It was a very rewarding experience. I highly recommend her sessions.”

Wood Engraving Workshop
Lead Artist: Ben Goodman
Wood engraving is a wonderfully low-tech discipline which requires little more than a set of tools and a piece of wood – yet it can produce the most beautiful and intricate images. This comprehensive two day workshop will teach you everything you need to know about engraving.
“ I attended a two-day workshop with the highly skilled wood engraver Ben Goodman, whose expertise and extensive knowledge in his field were truly impressive and inspiring. Over the course of the sessions, I learned how to prepare my woodblock properly and thoroughly, transfer designs with precision and accuracy, and engrave using a variety of specialised tools to achieve detailed and refined results. Additionally, I was introduced to two distinct and effective printing techniques. Printing with the press produced excellent and consistent results, particularly when weight distribution was carefully balanced, while smaller blocks responded exceptionally well to hand pressure, allowing for greater control. This invaluable experience has significantly expanded my understanding of wood engraving and printing methods, enriching my skills and creative approach.”

Block Printing, Mari Lwyd Workshop
Lead Artist: Rose Davies (Rose Scribblah)
Lino cutting is a printmaking method where a design is carved into linoleum. The drawing is transferred, then cut with gouges and knives. Removed areas stay ink-free, forming negative space. Ink is rolled onto un-carved sections, and paper is pressed onto the block to create the print. This technique produces bold, textured images.
“I recently attended Rose Davies’s two-day workshop on block printing with lino, centred on the theme of Mari Lwyd. The experience was fantastic. Rose’s deep knowledge of the technique was evident throughout, especially in her detailed explanations about the equipment and presses we used.
On the first day, Rose provided a man-made Mari Lwyd as inspiration to help us create drawings. Although I already had a design in mind, Rose was very encouraging and supportive of my individual approach.
The second day was dedicated to printing. Rose demonstrated which inks to use and taught us how to create beautiful rainbow gradients of colour. She also introduced an interesting method of incorporating colours from chocolate foils, such as those from Viscount biscuits and Tea Cakes, adding a unique dimension to our prints.”
